Glas Éireann Solutions are delighted to announce the appointment of Ekene Michael Gbanite as Chief Technology Officer.
An ambitious, hardworking and curious individual with extensive interest in Engineering, Ekene is a highly organised and efficient individual whose thorough and precise approach to projects has yielded excellent results in previous roles.
After working for years in the oil and gas sector, Ekene decided to learn more about energy conservation. This curiosity led to him completing a Master’s Degree in Sustainable Energy Engineering at Waterford Institute of Technology. In the process, Ekene won the Annual CIBSE Student Award, sponsored by Suir Engineering for his research project entitled “Feasibility of on-farm anaerobic co-digestion of food waste and pig manure for electricity generation and district hearting in a rural community in South East Ireland”. Ekene holds a BEng in Agricultural & Bioresource Engineering and an MSc in Sustainable Energy Engineering (Built Environment), and is proficient in Microsoft Office, Java Programming, AutoCAD, IES <VE>, Revit and Safaira.
In his spare time, Ekene enjoys socialising with close friends or engaging in activities such as jogging, dancing, and reading. Team sports are also a favourite past time of his.
In his role as CTO of Glas Éireann Solutions, Ekene’s role will entail energy project upgrade design, energy auditing, project management, managing energy performance contracts and applying knowledge of all aspects of energy management to energy related projects.
Ekene is very excited about his new role as the Chief Technology Officer for Glas Éireann Solutions as this will give him the opportunity to maximise his knowledge, skillset and experience to the fullest potential. “I believe this will be a great opportunity to work with a team of true innovators who have entrepreneurial mindsets in reducing carbon footprints as well as energy overheads”.

We felt however that Ekene was the perfect fit for our team right now, and we very much look forward to working with him in implementing green energy solutions to businesses across the country.”
