"I'm sure you're missing the California sunshine!" is the response I get most often when meeting new customers or networking with fellow SME business owners. I won't lie, after the never-ending rain of the past few months I find myself revelling in even the tiniest break of sunshine through the clouds. Spring/Summer, please get here so we can let the cattle out of the shed!
Really though, even since that initial trip to Ireland for a girl's holiday, I saw first hand how much potential there was for SMEs and hotels to save money by implementing easy energy efficiency upgrades. Back in California, we invested heavily in solar power and now we have so much at times that other states pay us for that excess energy. I see that same potential in Ireland with PV solar, wind generation, and tidal power. Let's not only help SMEs and agriculture save money and remain sustainable, but also give them an additional revenue source through green energy! Equally important, these upgrades also help our planet combat climate change as well as increase the comfort and safety of customers and employees.
This week is an exciting and busy one for us at Glas Éireann. Early in the week will find me at the ACORNS National Forum, then all of our staff head to Dublin for a fun few days at the SEAI Energy Show at the RDS. Feel free to come say hello to us if you see us about or message us on the conference app for a meeting. The week ends with the All Ireland Business Summit at Croke Park where we have been accredited as an All Star Thought Leader in Energy.
As this week continues with more rain, I'll be California dreaming of sunshine as well as all the opportunities that Ireland has to offer.
